該研究原始數據因丹麥法律限制未開放個人層面訪問，但研究團隊確認已提供符合法律要求的脫敏數據版本。 包括前反疫苗組織兒童健康防衛聯盟成員在內的多位疫苗懷疑論者，已在《內科醫學年鑒》官網發起聯名抗議。 主編萊恩強調，即便承認研究存在局限性，"這些局限也不影響研究結論的有效性，且無任何學術不端證據"。
